Ёжик в тумане - Hedgehog in the Fog (1975)

a big thank you to lea for introducing me to this delightful little russian animation from 1975 by yuri norshteyn. i know a lot of the very early russian film and some from the early 90s, but i hadn't seen this one before. it's really magical and worth the ten minutes it takes to watch it. i give you hedgehog in the fog.

thank you again, lea!

and after i watched hedgehog, thanks to the great suggestions by youtube, i ran onto this earlier piece by yuri norsteyn, co-directed by ivan ivanov-vano. the seasons (1969). the imagery and motifs are fantastic. i think i feel some embroidery coming on.

hey, glad you could use the link - it really is such a lovely little film. the hedgehog reminds me a bit of the piglet character in winnie the pooh - being a little timid and afraid. i can also highly recommend the one called 'the Heron and the Crane' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JpykPLhUMk&feature=related

ha en god dag! : )

I was brought up on russian fairy tales and russian animation and I've seen some of jezyk stories before, but not this one. It's lovely. I love the fact that he talks to himself and that the dog brought him his jam and the ending is very sweet. Thanks for this trip down the memory lane.

These videos were excellent. I've always been curious about these animated films since they were referenced in Michel Gondry's film "The Science of Sleep." Thank you for sharing these.
