secret 6 - the truth about me and crossword puzzles

despite being a person who loves words. adores them. is practically addicted to them. simply can't get enough. and who has even been fondly accused of having a mild case of hypergraphia, i don't like crossword puzzles. never have. they feel like a trick to me. like there's something a bit malevolent in them. so i never do them. ever. not even if i'm really bored.

and to ease the blow of such a short secret today, i'll send a little surprise to the first person who guesses the book above correctly.

  2. Ditto on the crosswords. When I'm truly bored and stuck in a doctor's office or something, I'd rather make lists.

Am in love with my new word hypergraphia! And here I thought it was called "diarrhea of thought."

As for the book, I got nuthin'.

  3. Hi Julie

oh thank goodness some one else who hates them too - but they tell us crosswords are good to fend off senility - perhaps I will stick to haiku - that teases my synapses enough...

    Happy days

  4. Cross words, too much bad karma. Pleasant words are much better.

  5. Crosswords are the devil. Not only do I dislike them, I couldn't finish one if my life depended on it. My mind just doesn't work that way.

I wish I knew what the book was though. Great post!

  7. Love crosswords. But only if I can do them all the way through and feel incredibly intelligent.
But that goes for pretty much everything I do.

  9. Hate them. My friend used to do them every day during Spanish class (we never did anything at all). He'd come and sit by me and try to get me to help him out. I refused, until of course I'd guess one or two. But how do you know if they're right? Scratch it out, do it again. Arg!
