wine glue. fine poo. sign zoo. pine pooh.*

warding off the evil H1N1 with, well...evil eyes

on thursday, in one of those moments of bad parenting (wherein we only left the child alone in the country for under an hour, i swear), i talked to husband. he was in cambridge (england), trying to get pain relievers from what was otherwise a condom vending machine in a bathroom of a holiday inn (implications of condoms and pain relievers in the same vending machine interesting and possibly fodder for an entirely different blog post). he swore it was for a headache and not the mild fever he was running. but he sounded like hell. i think he might have oinked, but it wasn't a great connection, so i'm not sure.

and now, i feel it catching up with me. i'm beginning to feel slow, glassy-eyed and decidedly achy. i definitely have a dull headache and i think i'm running a slight temperature.  i thought it was just because i held myself like a tense and retarded monkey while i learned to crochet today (yes, you read that correctly, i learned to crochet today!), but i'm starting to have to admit, it's more than that. i think i'm coming down with a dreaded case of the swine flu. wine glue. fine poo. sign zoo. pine pooh.

i should have bought some of those beads when i was in turkey, instead of just taking their picture...i'm sure that would have worked.

* with thanks and credit to my sister for the fine title. and she seems to have lived through it, so i'm sure i will too...

  2. Hope you have some chickensoup left, just in case you get really sick. Good for you that you got your crochet lesson. Now you can make your own little Pinky, if you choose too.

Hope you will read this tomorrow and you had a good night sleep and feel already a bit better. Otherwise God Bedring.

  5. oh no.....you know the drill, rest, fluids, etc. and go to the doc and get tamiflu when sometimes helps it pass more quickly?

  6. I was just reading an article earlier today that mentioned a slight misrepresentation of swine flu facts by the CDC. It's officially been over-hyped. Nevertheless, I hope you manage to escape its clutches and are just the temporary victim of the garden variety cold/flu. Feel better!!!!!

ps - my soap will be up on etsy soon. any requests?

  7. The swine flu wasn't too bad for our family so hopefully it will go equally as light on you. It wasn't pleasant but at least it only felt like a cold (that's all I would have thought it was if the doc hadn't run a test on my youngest).

    Feel better soon!

  18. I can send you the beads you would like to get.. Seriously.. Send me your address and which ones from where you would like to get.
Elemtere Fish Kem Gozlere Sish is the real sentence for piny pooh, and try to burn some salt and roam arpund the house with that pan, this is the real granny way of keeping the evil eye away. Seriously.. Well that was what grand-mothers used to do..
:) I reject the idea of evil eye.
Keep your self up with nice thoughts and loads of peaceful rest and spoil your self
    Love,

  20. Aw, sorry, it might just be an ordinary flue though. I had a bad case of flue about 6 weeks ago. I am not sure what kind it was; but it was severe and passed rather quickly. I hope you will get better soon.
    (LOL to Allegria's computer problems.;)
