lovin' the lomo thang!!

i've been having a ball with my lomo cameras. not everything has turned out on the initial rolls, but it's SOOooo much fun. even the waiting for films to be developed is way fun!

here are some samples:

expired fuji sensia 100 slide film cross-processed in C41 chemicals.

that's what gives it that cool red tint.

taken by sabin with her penguin-shaped toy camera that came with some candy.

ordinary 120 film, taken using the diana+

ordinary 35mm film in the fisheye 2

i think my camera store messed up this processing, but i love the effect

this lomography thing is way cool. i can highly recommend it. it's just so much fun to see what the simple mechanics of the camera can do. if you want to learn more, check out www.lomography.com and you'll see pix way better than these first ones of mine. the blurry pic of the bookshelf that i posted a few days ago was a lomo photo as well, taken with my diana+ camera.

Ah! I see you, too, do things the way you're not supposed to. I love it! The results are so much fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I will be back to visit you also.

there are fisheye lenses for the canon SLRs. :-)

but for much less money...urban outfitters. or online from lomography.com. i bought mine in manila, but it's one from the lomography.com people. which just means it had cool packaging. which i had to throw away because my suitcase was stuffed coming home from manila.

they're available at urban outfitters as well.

i just adore this "toy" camera thing. it's just so much fun!! and even tho' my photo processing people messed up the fisheye roll...it's still so cool! so i don't even feel upset in the same way i would if i wasn't playing!

debi--thanks for the encouragement.
jaime--i hope you feel better.
barb--thanks for being so sweet, as always!

i'm off to take more pix while the sun shines! i'm addicted!

The fun is the most important thing- you could be taking award winning photos and be numb to the experience of capturing images- one thing you've really got across here is the enthusiasm that makes it worthwhile.
If you don't like taking pictures, and taking chances and experimenting, then like everything else it won't turn out right. Like driving, cooking...anything.

my sweet friend liane, who got me into the lomo thing has "fixed" the negative fisheye shots, so i'll be posting the new versions when i get home later tonight.

thank you all for your sweet comments!
