news flash

i have some news for you. i've been volunteering at sabin's school, helping her teacher with a group that's making a modern version of the bayeux tapestry. there have been two groups so far - mixed groups of boys and girls from the fourth to sixth grade. and the news i have for you is that TEACHERS ARE TOTALLY, WOEFULLY UNDERPAID!! this is a HEROIC ACT they undertake on a daily basis!! being around children of this age is NOT FOR THE FAINTHEARTED!!

more as soon as i recover...

Bawhahaha! Such a brave woman you are to walk into the world of teaching classroom (any age group, doesn't matter which one). Father (art teacher...remember those?) tought me years ago that you don't teach for the money. Thats why he spent his summers working for the US Forest Service. Anyhow, shake it off and march right back in...the kids can be a lot of fun!

my dear sister taught kindergarten for 35 years, retiring last year. it was the best and the worst according to her. it is really hard work. I commend your effort. I used to help in the class rooms where my children went to school. I loved it.

You obviously are not following the American political news. Teachers are leaches and a drain on society, with their unions and all. They make too much money, they cause budget deficits and they get too many benefits. And a public education is unconstitutional anyway. Sheesh.
