changes in attitude, changes in latitude

it's kind of ironic that those who most love to travel and experience the world can be the most closed and protectionist of their personal tribe once they get back home. i wonder why that is? i've been thinking about it all day and i can't come up with an answer.

Your home is your heart... it's worth protecting!

Maybe it's about control. Often times the most outgoing and lively people I know also have the biggest needs to be in control.

But...that's just a stab at an answer..who knows...

They, more than those who stay in one place, notice how different people and places can be. One would think that knowing more differences gives you a greater understanding but for some it just means they collect more labels to slap on people and boxes to put them in. Or, it's about something I really don't understand....

Like our family, we protect who and what we know with even with all of its faults because it is a reflection of us.
