that white asparagus

see, doesn't it just look wrong? and to further make it wrong, it seems that they boil it to death. i was not impressed. just let the poor asparagus grow normally and naturally...green, as it was intended. THAT's delicious.

I could not agree more.

Where are few things as beautiful and delicious as fresh green asparagus brightened up with a touch of yellow butter.

I too agree. Nothing is better than fresh bright green asparagus. In fact I grilled some up with a little olive oil for lunch and lightly grated some parmasean cheese on top. Delicious!

I've never seen anything like that!

You gotta wonder what the nutritional content would be of a colourless veggie...can't be that high.

Yum :(

hello dahlings--it's so funny..when i got home, i found there was white asparagus in my weekly organic veggie box! so, it seems i can't escape it! i'm going to find a good recipe and not boil it to death and see if it won't taste better. but, i still much prefer the green kind!

Now I've got to go and catch up on all your writing.

Missed this post. But no matter what I have to write a response. You are WRONG. There is nothing more delicious than white asparagus. In the south of the Netherlands they are gold white gold. We even drive to Germany to find them. The first thing we do when we go home and it is the asparagus-season is buy them. This year I even started to grow my own in a special asparagus bed. I'm totally nuts when it comes to white asparagus.

So I hope you really found a good recipe and enjoyed your portion of white asparagus.
