how i spent kristihimmelfart

kristihimmelfart has something to do with easter. it's ascension (ascention?) day. or whatever. i don't really know what it means. i wasn't really paying attention that time i got sent to bible school for a week when i was 4. i think it's a funny name but that's because i'm kinda simple when it comes to it and it involves the word fart. i wasn't around anyone named kristi today, so i don't know about the farts, but i do know about frogs. because i spent quite a long time trying to photograph frogs. they were singing like crazy before i went down with the camera. do you think they would continue when i got there? of course they wouldn't, so i never did catch them with their little cheeks all puffed out. and i had a little staring contest with one (which i lost, undoubtedly because i don't think they can blink). but it was green and glorious and wonderful to be outside. i'll be able to sit down to work tomorrow, totally refreshed and renewed because i was able to spend most of this glorious day outside.

i also found out something about husband today. he actually has a blog. he created it, but has never written anything on it. and to think i thought he thought we were all completely mad. 5 ants are more than 4 elephants. he's super clever, don't you love that title?  husband is such a keeper. i'm not sure he's really going to blog, but i followed him, just in case. i think i've already been following him for rather a long time, but now it's official.

1. Blimey the Danish have some good holiday names - they are just called things like "Bank Holiday Monday" in UK.
2. Will frogs be in evidence at Blog Camp? Have a secret soft spot for them.
3. Love the name of husbands non-blog.

That is a really cool picture of the frog peeking out of the water! I wish I could take pictures like you. Stupid lack of creative genes!

If it's any consolation I giggle a little every time I read your blog and the fart holiday came up.

Great way to spend the day. Tell your husband if he doesn't post on his blog, the blog police will come and take it away from him. There will also be a fine of three bottles of wine payable to his wife at blog camp.

I knew it! What did I say? The blogging family! Simply having a blog TOTALLY COUNTS!

Same holiday in Sweden, four glorious days!

"Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter" as in "Five ants are more than four elephants" is actually a Swedish television series for children from the 70ies. So actually, Swedes are clever than Danes...;) One of my favourite shows when a child and quite every bit as entertaining and fun today. I think it's on DVD these days.

how, how how do you manage to blog every day? I never seem to find enough hours in the day, and I know you are probably busier than I am.

sigh.

Aha! Confirmation that my phobia is just for toads. I could look at your froggie pics with no shudders and think they're kinda cute...
I'm pretty sure my husband doesn't have an actual blog but he's been utterly geeky with his Jeep and motorbike and RC boat online forums for years - uploading pics and telling stories and sharing - and I tease him that they totally count as blogging :)
Well done you going back to work on a Friday - in SA that would be a total write-off!

Every year, we have 'Kristlekind' wine, which is mulled wine from Germany at Christmas. Aparently it mean 'Christlike'.

Seaside Girl--we will be going to the place where the frogs live on Saturday evening of blog camp.

VEG--i know, it's just too funny the usage of fart in danish.

iasa--i told him and he asks, "are the blog police cute?" i'm not sure what i think about that, but i'm totally cool with the bottles of wine fine.

char--thanks for the explanation on ascension day. and i thought he wandered around in the far east. i'm glad i didn't actually TOUCH any of the frogs, just took their picture.

Pia--thank you for that. husband is half swedish and spent his first 5 years there, so that explains it. i have always been certain that the cleverness came from the swedish side. :-)

kamana--thanks!

lynne--i'm obsessed. i'd rather blog than sleep (and often do).

molly--those online forums totally count as blogging. i wouldn't work if i didn't have a crushing amount to do.

lisa-marie--we do mulled wine here at christmas as well, but it's just called glögg here.

We love frogs too. My eskimo dog (Juneau) loves to kiss them. He doesn't hurt them, just puts them in his mouth and spits them out again. No warts either;)

Photographing frogs seems a most excellent thing to do. If only I were not on deadline and locked indoors. Sigh.
