can i go back to bed?

it's raining, grey and dreary out today. sort of a steady, cold drizzle and while i can't really complain since we really rather need some rain, it makes me want to crawl back in bed. the dream i was having right before i woke up still lingers and i'd like to slip back into it. because i was taking some great pictures there, of a couple of old, broken clocks hung high up on a wall in an old, dusty, deserted part of an enormous library. a sort of unending, borgesian library. i left a leather chest there in one of the aisles with some of my camera lenses in it and i was just snapping a few pictures of dusty clocks hanging askew (and i know they were great pictures) and then turning back to the chest when the alarm rudely went off. husband hit snooze and i drifted right back in, but suddenly there was a group there, sort of a tour group, exploring these far reaches of the ancient library, disturbing the dust. because it was a dirt floor this far in. i could sort of see back to the part where there was a golden glow of light and wooden floors and scholarly elderly men moving about in flowing graduation robes or robes like a judge might wear. and i wished that group would go back there and leave me to my dusty clocks and my old leather chest of camera lenses. because i liked it there in the far reaches of the enormous, labyrinthine, old library.

Damn tourists!
Can't even get away from them in your dreams. And that season has only just begun in Denmark.

I love rains - just not the drizzly types. Grey cloud cover makes me really happy. Also, the smell of wet soil does wonders for me. I love waking up to the sound of raindrops falling on my window pane. Can't wait till the rainy season hits my hometown!

this is a great dream - I love dreams that take place in libraries... I get dreams like that when I'm on my antihistamines for hayfever but I've been sleeping dreamlessly lately. shame...

Just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your blog very much! I was in living in Naestved, Denmark for a few months last year so your blog touched a special part in my heart because I wrote a blog while I was in Denmark. denmarkstateofmind.blogspot.com Keep up the great blogging and good luck with your blogger camp :-) I was also curious what brings you to denmark?

extranjera--i know, you just can't escape them!

shweta--we actually need the rain and i find it relaxing too..perfect for sleeping! :-)

kamana--i hate it indeed.

polly--it might have been the antihistamines.

rebecca--it certainly wasn't from a lifelong dream of giving half my salary in taxes. :-) it was a very cute danish boy that i followed home more than a decade ago...

hit 40--sadly, i was wide awake, the dream was just still very present. it's faded now.

Sounds like someone in the dream management staff goofed. They obviously thought you had woken up and didn't expect you to return. When you went back to sleep you met the next group of folks having the same dream.
I'll bet someone got fired for it.

there is just something wonderful about sleeping on a rainy day. it feels decadent.
