what to do?

this is post #699, which means the one after this is #700. i've written almost 700 posts (that's just on this blog, we're not even talkin' about all those others). i feel like #700 should be something special. a milestone of sorts (not to begin to seem obsessed with stones). but i feel a little paralyzed (that's been common this week) before the round number.

then it hit me, i have this fantastic resource right here, at my disposal. and that resource is all of you! so what should #700 be? i'm open to any and all suggestions (tho' i will pick my favorite in a most undemocratic perhaps even dictatorial fashion). and #700 will be the one that inspires me most.

so, put your thinking caps on and leave me a comment with your suggestions. perhaps a giveaway (and if so, what would you like me to give)? a dare? something you think i can wax philosophical on (not grammar, that's clear)? a list of questions you've always wanted to ask?

i wanna hear all your best and brightest ideas. because somehow these milestones matter, don't they?

well...I'm not sure if this is #700 worthy...but I wonder quite often how you view things as an american living abroad. Things that we take for granted, different opinions on things like smoking, religion, music etc. I've been to Europe several times, but only as a tourist. Of course I know that many of your followers are European so that might impact your decision, but I'd be interested in it.
Good luck!

That's a lot of writing for sure. 700 posts and soon to be counting. I have noticed that I used to love perusing the web looking for fancy schmancy stuff and people (like yourself), but as of late I'm tired. That may be due to the fact that I still haven't fully recovered from surgery (b/c I've been so tired since March but who knows)...So, how do you keep writing? You are a writer, by trade, are you not? So, how do you keep writing on the blog and not get bored and how do you find the time? I have no kids and I feel like I can't find the time (probably because I'm tired - I already said that).

Oh, yes, and a giveaway. I'd love for you to giveaway some kindereggs, but not it's summer - they might melt. You can certainly give them away and send them this fall. haha (I love them - as a kid growing up in Germany - I lived on Ferrero Rocher chocolate)

I'd like to hear about the bizzaarooo stuff, your best/worst job, your funniest/frightening moments, best/worst vacation, best/worst purchase, stuff like clothes accessories blah blah blah. What drove you to writing and exposing yourself in blogland anyway??? Are there too many options there???

this is why there should be strict rules against drinking (alone) and blogging...

I can only come up with totally mad ideas at this point. I won't even annoy you with their outrageousness!

I will check back in the morning- sober

wow! 700! seeing as how i just read "what i've learned so far this week," perhaps your 700th blog should say, "and on the 700th day she rested." ;)

Julie-we come here for you, not us. You give us what you want, and it will be 700 worthy.
How about...aw, just whatever.
And Jules-if I'm ever in Minnesota (which I might be-my favorite family members live there)I'm looking you up, ok?
Congratulations Julie. You are my favorite blogger (just don't tell the other bloggers, and jeez! don't tell my other family members I like those Minnesotans best.)
Take care. Me, Tara

How about an interview between you and Sabin? Your answers should reflect what has passed (so that she can learn about your history) and hers what she believes will be in the future (an innocent perspective to what will be). Your bleeps can help come up with the questions...

how about...a post that is exactly 700 words long?

ok, so thats sort of cool in an uncool way idea. but hey, im trying.

or! a list of 700 things you want to do before you die? ok...thats a lot. maybe just 7? 70? 100? you get what Im saying.

Or 700 words that describe your life.

700 songs you are addicted to? I love music sharing...

700 ways to make your day?

I dont know, its all up to you. Im sure whatever you do choose to do will be great :] I love reading your blog.

Xk

A challenge. Take 7 ideas, tell us 70 things you learned from it and do this in 700 words.
Ideas:blogs, why you started blogging, friendship, living abroad, having kids, being creative, how to learn something new everyday, your stone, your camera, how you like to start your day or end it.

Just have fun and tell us about it.

Gawd, just the thought of 700 posts makes me tired!
How 'bout revisiting every 100th post (no. 100, no. 200 etc) and doing a commentary on what you think about those events/ideas/thoughts/etc now?
And also, are you sure there's 699 actual posts? No drafts lurking in there... :)

I can't top many of the ideas above right now and I know you'll come up with a brilliant 700th post.

Instead, I'm all about the prize :-)

How about the winner for the best idea gets one of your helleristninger stones? (and don't forget to include best idea for a prize in your considerations)

lots of great ideas--i'll have fodder for posts for weeks to come!

molly--this was the last of the drafts, so it really is #700--i had to scrounge way back to find this one last night!! it's really the last one.

Maybe a post of all things 7.

Pictures of things shaped like a 7. a picture of your seven favorite stones, placed in the shape of a 7. All 7's the whole post.

7 things that changed the world

7 pictures of curious items in your house.

Can't go wrong with 7.

Since I can't come up with anything creative right now, how about I cast a vote? I like the "American living abroad" idea as well as the interview with Sabin
I'm sure whatever you write about will be as brilliant as always :)

700 words arranged any way you like (maybe some design or something artsy fartsy) that describe you and your experiences in life. Not phrases or sentences....just words.

Liz Fulcher, The Fragrant Muse said...

...and don't forget about the prize.

I agree with you on the triggered music players. If I go to a blog that has this I immediately stop reading. It annoys me. I make musical reviews with pictures and then everyone can make their own choice if they want to view it.
p.s. thanks for your comments about our foxes. They are just delightful!
