the robots are taking over

on a cold, rainy, grey day, what better way to while away the hours than by making polymer clay robots and other things for hours on end? and eating turkey sandwiches made with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce on good bread. oh, and hot, spiced apple cider. it was the perfect sunday. back to the ranting and pondering of strange phenomena tomorrow...

these were made with fimo polymer clay, which you shape and then bake for 30 minutes in the oven to harden it, then you can paint. since these pics, i've put a shiny varnish on all of them (like the pink/purple one above). they're so cheerful and fun! more to share tomorrow when it's light enough to photograph again. it gets dark early these days!

Oh Julie! This looks just like something my girls do all the time, with what we call over here "sculpey"- might even be the same thing. I love the little globe...we've made one of those, too. The robots are amazing: I can't wait to show this post to the girls. Very talented sculpey creators, you and your girl!
Best wishes, Tara

hi tara--i haven't been able to find sculpey here, so fimo is the brand we can get. it's the same stuff, made by eberhard-faber instead. it was so much fun to play with it, we started last night and continued all day today!

I remember Fimo! Haven't seen/played with it since I was a kid but this got me excited about revisiting it with Frieda.
Those robots are so cool! You could sell them on Etsy I'm sure - robots are so hip right now.
